Cut round
shapes of 12 cm diameter from scrap fabrics.
2.
Starting with
a double backstitch, work running stitches close to the folded edge.
3.
Measure 0.5
cm from the raw edge and make a fold. Pin in position.
4.
Gently pull
the running stitches to gather the fabric. Fasten with a double backstitch.
5.
Attach a
button to secure and decorate the fabric Yoyo.

1.Define patchwork.(2)
Patchwork consists of cut pieces of scrap fabrics, joined together by hand or by machine stitching. The cut pieces can be made by various shapes such as squares, hexagons and triangles. Patchwork is one way of recycling and reusing fabrics from old clothes or textile items

to do a patchwork? (5)
1 sheet of tracing paper, Lightweight or medium weight scrap fabrics,
Sewing kit
3.List the steps to do a
patch work. (5)
1.
Draft a
pattern on tracing paper as per dimensions from your textbook (25 by 25 cm) or
according to your own project pattern.
2.
Using the
pattern, cut out four squares in scrap fabrics. The patchwork will consist of
four squares.
3.
With right
sides facing together, join two pieces of scrap fabrics.
4.
Pin, tack and
machine stitch or use back stiches instead if you do not have a sewing machine
along stitching line. Work a seam of 1 cm wide.
5.
Press all
seams open.
6.
Repeat the
process with the other two pieces of fabric.
7.
With right
sides facing, join the pieces together, matching stitching lines.
8.
Press all
seams open.
9.
Your
patchwork is now completed.
